Route Description

Diamond Head is perhaps the most iconic and popular hike on O’ahu.  This 300,000 year old volcanic tuff cone rises 761ft above the eastern edge of Waikiki.  While challenging for everyone, this hike is suitable for most ages and abilities.  The trail is well maintained and hikers are protected by railings in most steep sections of trail.

This hike is at its best in the early morning hours before the afternoon heat sets in.  Depending on the season we can be at the summit before sunrise.  Our guide will offer a variety of photo opportunities as the morning light first hits Waikiki far below.

Diamond Head is a rite of passage that every visitor must experience.  Let our guides help make this experience unforgettable.

Threats:

Risks on this hike are relatively few.  A flashlight and comfortable hiking boots or shoes will lessen the chance of a sprained ankle.
